Mike Daniels’ dominant effort against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday has earned the Green Bay Packers defensive lineman a well-deserved spot on Pro Football Focus’ Team of the Week for Week 1.

Daniels finished with 1.5 sacks, four quarterback hits and a game-changing forced fumble in his 2017 debut. According to PFF, Daniels led all interior defensive lineman with a pass-rushing productivity of 17.7 in Week 1. He also added six defensive stops.

From PFF:

Daniels abused a weak Seattle offensive line, racking up two sacks, two hits and a hurry as well as six defensive stops, a figure which led all interior defenders for the week. Daniels is one of the best interior defenders in the league, and he was simply too strong for a Seahawks line that again looks to be a weakness of the team.

Daniels’ unrelenting disruption helped the Packers hold the Seahawks to just 225 total yards and 12 first downs in Green Bay’s 17-9 win. Seattle completed only 14 passes and totaled 90 rushing yards, largely because No. 76 lived in the Seahawks’ backfield.

Early in the third quarter, Daniels muscled his way past Seahawks guard Luke Joeckel and stripped Russell Wilson, setting up the Packers’ first touchdown of the season. Green Bay took the lead and never looked back.

Packers outside linebacker Nick Perry just missed making the team. Despite a similarly destructive day at the office, Perry was beaten out on the edge by Calais Campbell of the Jacksonville Jaguars and Khalil Mack of the Oakland Raiders.
